Should I call the pediatrician, or should I not? That is the question.

"Bless his heart"

All in all Brady has been very healthy and has had little problems physically. He was born late and big...so no issues with the pregnancy and labor.

About a month in, the doctor said he has acid reflux so he has been on Prevacid since. Every night we administer these delayed released capsules. He had become quite good at taking it! With reflux however, comes a lot of spitting up, gagging (had an episode this morning that scared the s*#t out of me), coughing and hiccups. Hopefully he won't have to be on the medication for too long. Some kids have to be on it for the first few years of life though. We'll see.

For the past few weeks we have noticed another health issue with Brady. It started with just one dry spot on his back. We kept an eye on it, but it never went away. Then it became more dry spots. All over his back and some on his belly and sides. It was OBVIOUSLY not normal so I took him to the doctor Monday. They said it was either contact dermatitis or baby eczema. Both are treated with the same medication (hydrocrotisone cream). After just 2 days of applying the cream it looks better already. I am to use the cream for another 3 days and see what it looks like after that.

The episode that scared me this morning was when I went to get him out of his crib I then took him to the changing table and noticed his nose had snot in it (haven't seen that yet) . Then he started to gag so I picked him up and he PROJECTILE vomited all over!! Ewww. So I kept him upright for a while longer and he started gagging again on what sounded like phlegm. He then vomited again. He nursed then just fine and seems perfectly normal now. Possibly though his first little cold?? I think I will wait until his 6 month vaccine appointment next week until we go to the doctor again. Unless of course his symptoms get worse.

In general, I think we have a pretty darn healthy kid! I hope he can stay that way throughout his life.
