BOOM!
Thanks to a remindar from my mom, I need to document a few key things going on right now. That is why I started this blog after all. Brady is now 14 months and growing faster than ever. We FINALLY got a first "real" word. Boom is his official first word. Anytime he falls or throws something he says boom. So cute :) The occasional mama, dada and ga will be said, but we consider boom to be the first word. Brady may not be speaking much, but he sure has a mouthful of teeth! 11 teeth!! He still naps twice a day and nurses 3 times a day. I am happy to also report he is sleeping through the night. We usually don't hear him from 8pm-5am.

12 months
It has been one year since our lives changed forever. After 41 weeks, 23 hours of labor and 3 hours of pushing, Brady Adam Smith finally made his appearance to this world. He was a healthy 9 lbs 11 oz and just as pleasant as could be.
The Smith family was complete.
The first few days the household got very little sleep, but it didn't matter one bit.
Over the past year, Gus has kept his distance, but many times wanted to be near Brady...just to see what he was all about.

11 months!
Thsi has been a big month for Brady, a.k.a Bman, B, Hoss. August 6, 2011 was officially when he took his first steps. At the moment I'd say he crawls 85% of the time, but when he gets upright he loves every minute!!
He didn't want the sticker on this month, obviously!

10 months and speeding up....
It has been a while since I've posted. I guess my free time is becoming less and less as the days go on. Who would've thought a 10 month old requires so much attention? :) Oh Brady,
(a.k.a. -B-) please give me a few more weeks until you start walking..... yes, the time of sore backs and growing arms muscles is soon to be no more. He is getting around the room now holding on to things and falling a lot less. I'm not rushing it, but soon he will be on two feet chasing poor Gus and getting in to more things he shouldn't. Until then....days are going a little something like this:
Sleeping through the night ~ Ok, we are STILL getting up between 3:30am and 4:30 am for a feeding. Some days he sleeps closer to 5am, but has yet to make it what you'd call through the night (8p-8a).
Getting up for the day between 7am-8am.
Nurse 5-10 minutes
Breakfast (2 portions of pears or apples) also just recently been trying yogurt. He seems to like it.
Play for 2 hours
Nap (1- 2 hours)
Nurse 5-10 minutes
Play/Run errands for 3 hours
Nurse 5 -10 minutes
Nap (1-2 hours)
Play for an hour
Nurse 5 minutes
Dinner (been experimenting with a variety of things other than his regular squash, sweet potatoes, carrots, etc... Last night tried mashed potatoes and peas and carrots
Play for another few hours/Walk/Bath
Nurse 10 minutes
Bed at 8pm
Weighed B last night ~ 23 lbs

9 month updates
9 Months!
I thought it was time to do a little updating on our virtual baby book. Being that Brady's 9 month birthday was yesterday and we had a wellness visit with the doctor today, I figured now would be as good of time as any to do a little writing.
Okay, eating: still nursing 6x day for approx. 10 minutes. I have been making baby food for the little guy and freezing the product in ice cube trays. He eats one in the morning (usually pears or apples) and one early evening (squash, carrots or sweet potatoes). We have also JUST started the puffs. Good for hand/eye coordination and he is feeding them himself :) The doctor suggested trying to feeding him some watermelon (for good pictures). So, that'll be next. We are going to introduce finger foods now on a daily basis so he can get used to feeding himself and chewing/swallowing. Also working on getting him to drink out of a sippy cup. No luck yet, but he'll get it.
Sleeping: Whoo..hooo! We are doing good!!! After a recent road trip, Bradys schedule was turned upside down and when we returned home he was waking up at night like he was 3 weeks old again. Whew.......that was no fun. After 3 nights of letting him cry it out (about 10 minutes each time) he finally got it. He is going down without a fight at 8pm and not waking until 5 am. Then back down until 8am. We are at 2 naps a day. Morning nap lasts about an hour and the afternoon almost 2 hours.
A few developmental things...
Brady is crawling everywhere and pulling himself up on everything! We put up a baby gate to give Gus a little relief :)
Experiencing a little stranger anxiety lately but that's very normal for this age.
He has said dada many times...however does not seem to know what it means. He looks at Gus and says it as well as Adam :)
Does respond to name.
